Miracle at the Mets Game

I mean, aside from them winning on Opening Day Monday afternoon.

Read all about a very special family moment I witnessed at Citi Field in my post "Score!" over at DadCentric today.

Or just stay here and enjoy this tuneful montage of photos from Uncool Family outings to Opening Day from 2000 to 2010.

Or do both. You're good enough, you're smart enough and, doggone it, I like you!

Video -- Uncool Opening Days: 2000 to 2010

No more baseball talk next week. Unless, by another miracle, the Mets are still undefeated by then.

UPDATE: The Mets, down 6-1 last night, rallied to tie it 6-6 ... only to blow it in extra innings. You're all spared.

  1. I'm downloading this video STAT! I'm worried if I sit here playing it ad infinitum, I'll break it for sure. Are you originally from Texas? If so, do you have that cool Texan accent? Notice how I just showed off there? *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

  2. A Mets fan! Woot! Growing up, my hometown team (sorta) was the Tidewater Tides, which led me to the Mets, whom I followed for a LONG time (especially enjoyed the '86 World Series)...and then I moved to Maryland and married an Orioles fan. sigh. The '96 ALCS broke my heart, but I still remember taking off a day from work to go see the O's at old Memorial Stadium on Opening Day many, many years ago.

    Good times!

  4. You're a Mets fan? I can no longer read your blog.

    I kid.

Yankees fan here...but I wish you luck this year. Perhaps the Mets can stay off the DL this year.

  7. Great montage. I have never been to Opening Day. With the Cardinals being 8 hrs away it is not the easiest thing to pull off. I do go every year for a weekend though. I love baseball and can't wait to take my son to a game some day.
