Mama, Don’t Let You Daughters Grow Up to Join a Knack Cover Band

No one obviously bothered to explain to these kids’ parents the irony of Japanese school girls singing an ode to male teenage hormonal lust.

Never gonna stop, give it up.
Such a dirty mind.
Always get it up for the touch
of the younger kind.

My my my i yi woo, indeed.

For more tales of the young ‘uns and their dag-gum devil music (no, worse – Lady Gaga), please head on over to my post today on DadCentric titled “When Your Girl Goes Gaga.”

  1. You know, they were really pretty good, all things considered.

  2. If this is wrong, I don't want to be right. Laughing about the song choice, the vocalist on speed with her adorable fist pumps, and the the band members' on lithium. There's more, but that's what really worked for me.

oh, good lord...I've thought for a long time that one way to make that song more annoying would be to slow down the tempo...sadly, I was right.

Still, I give them credit for trying. Better that than oh, say, Brittany Spears.

Back in the day, me and my friends used to sing the chorus as "My Bologna!"...you can guess the rest of the lyrics :)

  6. It could be worse. They could be covering Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love". Think about THAT for a while.

  8. or they could have covered "I want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow...that song about young lust sung by a teenage girl.

  9. "And we were trying different things
    We were smoking funny things
Making love out by the lake to our favorite song
Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow
Singing Sweet home Alabama all summer long."

You can imagine my pride when the kids rocked out to this one..... at their grandmom's.

(Can I blame it on Japanese cover bands?)

  10. This? This is awesome.

I was never a huge Knack fan, but I was still a little sad to hear that the man who was once the boy who wrote the song about the girl named Sharona that he was in love with had died.
